Xàtiva and the “Borgias”
This is one of the most interesting small towns close to Valencia, located at 60 km by the South of Valencia City and well-known as “The Town of Borgias”. In Xátiva lived the Pope Calixtus III and was the birthplace of Alexander VI, booth were the Renaissance Roman Popes, who spread this Italian style in Spain. Tour around 15th c. Old Town, highlighting palaces and places of interest: The Almudín, the Old Hospital, the Collegiate Church, the Franciscans Church, some gothic style palaces like Montortal, Alarcó, etc. Also we´ll go up to the Castle, which had Carthaginians and Roman origins, crowning the city and where you can see the remains of the different civilizations that inhabited it.
