Puig and Sagunto
Close to Valencia there are the two more steeped in history localities in the Valencia´s Autonomous Community: the Monastery of Santa Mary of Puig and Sagunto. The place of Santa Mary of Puig was originally the battlefield of Valencia´s Conquest during the 13thc. (Christians against Muslims), after that the place became in the most important Monastery in the ancient Kingdom of Valencia and actually is Royal Lodging. Sagunto has a unique heritage in Spain, being the oldest castle-fortress in Spain, a worth visit to discover Iberians, Carthaginians, Romans, Arabs, and Christian remains in the same place. We will visit the Roman theatre, the Jewish quartier, the medieval Christian town with gothic churches and many different museums.
