The Cathedral of Valencia was built on the ancient Roman Basilica, later Visigoth Church and Muslim mosque, but there are no visible remains of these buildings. Its main transformation began in 1262 as Cathedral, when it was rebuilt in a new Cistercian Gothic Style plan; but the building work it took more than five hundred years for to be completed, so that, the succession of different European styles is most remarkable feature (from Romanesque to Neoclassical). Many different artists were commissioned from all ages, leaving in it monumental parts: Iron Door, Apostles Door, the Main Chapel, the Miguelete Tower, the Diocesan Museum, and especially the Chapel of the Holy Chalice. https://catedraldevalencia.es
