Saint Mathew and Morella
Saint Mathew is an amazing village, declared Historical Monument of Cultural Interest, for its history and artistic places. The village seems to be missing in the time, with its City Walls, the Medieval Prison, the Archpriest’s Church, St. Peter’s Church, the Augustine’s Convent, the Jewish Alley, the Borrull´s Palace, etc. Later we will continue to Morella, crossroads palace amongst Catalonia, Aragon and Valencia and witness of important deeds of every civilizations from the Prehistoric times until nowadays (Neolithic, Bronze Ages, Greeks, Romans, Visigoths, Muslims, Christians…). The whimsical shape of the town, with the castle on the top, the monuments and the city walls have been the setting of legendary heroes during the history, enriching more and more the valuable heritage of the city.
